Jeff Myers is excited to join Grace Presbyterian South Shore as its Youth Ministry Pastoral Intern. His approach to youth ministry is framed by Paul’s words to the Thessalonians: “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us” (I Thess 2:8). What a privilege it is to serve the Lord in South Shore!
Jeff and his wife, Greta, hail from Seattle where Jeff taught Bible and Choir at a private Christian school for 4 years. During that time, Jeff also served as middle school youth director at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church and taught private trombone lessons. He and Greta have moved to South Hamilton, MA for Jeff to begin his studies as a Masters of Divinity student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to this, Jeff studied Music and Business Management at Hillsdale College (Hillsdale, MI) and received a Masters of Music at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). While on a Mexico mission trip, they both were called to prepare for Jeff to become a pastor.
In June of 2012, Jeff and Greta were united in matrimonial bliss and have since immersed themselves in reading books to each other, taking walks, speaking in funny accents, and hanging out with their favorite people. After three years, they’re still smitten! Their daughter Ramona was born in Dec. '15 and has added great adventure to their lives. Greta taught high school English and Drama for 6 six years, but is shifting gears into nannying and tutoring.
In working with youth, Jeff believes in the power of God’s Spirit to use relationships, rallied around the word of God, to bring His children to abundant life. He also vows to never become a Patriots fan. Go Hawks!
