What to Expect on a Sunday

We gather as people of different backgrounds, callings, personalities, ages, etc... to acknowledge and worship the Living God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). It is always our joy to welcome newcomers and inquirers and we pledge to not embarrass you or make you stand up. There is no expectation for you to come dressed up or with any prior knowledge. You can participate in the service as you feel comfortable or simply observe. As people make their way into the sanctuary they are given a printed guide to help follow the "Order of Worship."

These are some of the elements in the worship service:

+   Singing the Worship of God

+   Prayers to God (of confession, thanksgiving, and/or petition)

+   Affirmation of the Faith (confessing together using a historic creed)

+   Offerings back to God (in no way an expectation for visitors)

+   Observing the Sacraments (Lord's Supper - 1st and 3rd Sundays and Occasional Baptism)

+   Hearing God's Word read and preached

The service begins at 11:00am and is typically a hour and fifteen minutes after which all are invited to gather for refreshments and conversation in the fellowship all (2nd and 4th Sunday)

In order to enrich the worship experience for both children and parents we provide nursery for children birth through 3 years and an instructional time for children 4 years through 4th grade (read more here).

Our church desires to warmly welcome all, including those who are impacted by disability. We recognize each person to be made in the image of God and thus to be worthy of dignity, honor and respect (Gen. 1:27).

Our church is equipped with an exterior elevator to help with transition between the upper and lower levels of the building. If there are specific ways that we can help your family integrate into our congregation, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@gracesouthshore.org
